From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

During season six of Game of Thrones, there was one character who remained (and remains) an imminent threat to all those around him: The Mountain.

The golden plated warrior, loyal only to the new Queen, Cersei, has constantly been a terrifying force for evil, with his new look only adding to the character’s sinister presence.

Underneath the helmet, things are just as scary. While we weren’t given a look at Ser Clegane’s mangled face during season six, a picture has since emerged of actor Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson in his Mountain make-up. As expected, it’s terrifying.

Recently, the Icelandic actor launched his own brand of Vodka, releasing a hilarious YouTube video alongside, playing off his Game of Thrones role.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the HBO show will film in Iceland early next year, with six primary actors apparently filming at the location. Season seven has yet to get a release date, but will likely hit the airwaves later than previous seasons.
