From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. As Game of Thrones season seven filming continues, yet more information about the secretive HBO show has reached the internet.

According to their agency CVs, actors Joseph Quinn and Paul Ward will be joining the show, both casting announcements being picked up by fan website Watchers on the Wall.

Quinn’s reveals that he is playing a character called “Konar,” believed not to be an already substantiated character from the books as no-one called “Konar” exists yet. Quinn was previously seen in BBC’s Dickensian, playing Arthur Havisham.

Meanwhile, Ward’s role remained unnamed, but the actor was previously seen on both Vikings and Penny Dreadful.

Pictures recently emerged from the set of Game of Thrones season seven, revealing the likes of Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne), and Liam Cunningham (Davos) in costume.

An actor previously thought to be playing Sophie Turner’s (Sansa Stark) stunt double was also photographed, yet has since been identified as a completely new character. Also spotted on the set of season seven was Richard Rycroft, who played Maester Wolkan in seasons five and six.

Fans have been speculating over another marriage in season seven, between Sansa Stark and Jon Snow while actor Sophie Turned spoke about the HBO show at the Emmys, detailing how season seven will contain numerous deaths.
