From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. With only a few days left to recover after the game-changing events of Game of Thrones episode five, these photos provide proof that episode six has no plans to alleviate any tension.
The newly released images - six in total - include Arya (Maisie Williams), her target Lady Crane (Essie Davis) and a long-teased King's Landing showdown.
A photo showing the High Sparrow with Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer) suggests she's been prepped for the 'shame walk' experienced by Cersei back in season five's finale while other images of King Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman) and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) indicates this is where the majority of this week's episode will be taking place.
Elsewhere, it seems that - with Ser Jorah Mormont out of the way - Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and her love interest Daario Naharis (Michael Huisman) are to rekindle their flame on their way back to Meereen (with Dothraki army in tow, of course).
The episode's official synopsis reads: “An old foe comes back into the picture. Gilly (Hannah Murray) meets Sam’s (John Bradley) family. Arya (Maisie Williams) faces a difficult choice. Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) faces off against the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce).”
The episode's preview - which airs this Sunday - hints that we'll be learning more about the Tower of Joy leading fans to speculate we could finally be about to learn one of the show's biggest secrets.
