From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The fourth episode of Game of Thrones was a return to form, with Jon Snow and Sansa getting the family reunion we all prayed for and Daenerys back on track to rule Essos.
Attention has turned to the fifth episode, ‘The Door’, with many fans wondering what the title may be referencing.
Thanks to HBO, we have some photos from the upcoming episode, showing Littlefinger turning up at Castle Black and teasing the return of the Night’s King.
An image of yet more Children of the Forrest has also been released; something of a surprise as Leaf - the Three-Eyed Raven’s green-skinned butler - has so far played a minor role in the show.
Unfortunately, there are no images from King’s Landing, hinting that Cersei and Jaime’s story may be put on the back-burner this episode.
The episode’s official synopsis reads: “Tyrion seeks a strange ally. Bran learns a great deal. Brienne goes on a mission. Arya is given a chance to prove herself.”
The preview for the episode has also already been released, you can read our breakdown of what to expect here.
