HBO has shared new Game of Thrones season five pictures with fans to coincide with the first full-length trailer.

Maisie Williams is back as Arya Stark in the photos, along with Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Kit Harington as Jon Snow and Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister.

The first look images, released on the show’s official Facebook page, depict Tyrion plotting with Varys, Margaery Tyrell looking unexpectedly happy after her husband Joffrey’s death and Jon Snow seemingly teaming up with Stannis Baratheon.

Elsewhere, Cersei is angry at “little monster” Tyrion’s escape from King’s Landing and Arya is preparing to join assassin’s guild the Faceless Men of Braavos after reaching the House of Black and White.

Then there are the first glimpses of Alexander Siddig and Jonathan Pryce as Dorne ruler Doran Martell and religious leader the High Sparrow respectively.

The long-awaited teaser clip debuted at IMAX showings of the last two episodes of season four and was later released internationally, much to fans’ excitement.

Ominous one-liners from the two-minute video included “Nothing’s more hateful than failing to protect the one you love” from Cersei and Tyrion admitting “I don’t think I’m ready for what I deserve”.

Game of Thrones returns to Sky Atlantic on Monday 13 April and will adapt material from George RR Martin’s A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons.
