From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

There are now six seasons of Game of Thrones to work through should you be one of the few remaining people left to actually begin watching it. Naturally, wading your way through the box sets may seem like one hell of an intimidating task, but the above video recap is your next best bet. The fact it's narrated by Samuel L. Jackson seals the deal.

Provided by HBO themselves, the video summary does a good job at putting all the relevant plot points from the show's first five seasons at the forefront etching out all the expendable plot points and even straying from revealing all the shocking plot points (meaning you should probably muster up the courage to go back and watch it from episode one).

But to be quite honest, anything is made better when narrated by Samuel L. Jackson - especially when that narration describes White Walkers as "the scary motherfuckers" and summarises Bran Stark's entire storyline with these three words: "Bran? Bran trippin'."
