From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

As part of her day job, Lena Headey is used to dishing out insults playing Cersei Lannister in HBO series Game of Thrones.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel's chat show in the States, the actress was asked to deliver insults from long-running series The Bachelor - the reality show which follows a single male who chooses a wife from a pool of romantic interests - in the style of everybody's favourite cold-blooded Queen.

Goblet of wine in hand, Headey took to the task like a pro.

Staring down the camera, she snarled: "I don't think there's one girl here who's competition; I think I'm way prettier than everyone else" as well as the gem: "I'm going to punch her in the face - like seriously."

Not bad for someone who, by their own admission, has never seen an episode.

Earlier this week, new teasers for Game of Thrones' sixth season were unveiled, each focusing on the three main families featured in the fantasy series.

Season six begins airing on Sky Atlantic from 24 April.
