From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner feature in the latest episode of Carpool Karaoke, filmed back in March in Texas during South by Southwest.
A sneak peek at the full episode sees the duo revive an old game where they'd read sentences in their very best Sean Bean (AKA Ned Stark) impersonations, or like they were Jon Snow on top of the Wall, "staring out at all the wildlings".
And so the young Starks threw out a couple of classic phrases including "Hakuna Matata: what a wonderful phrase!", "It's-a me, Mario!", and the entire spoken word intro to Mix-a-Lot's "Baby Got Back".
Unfortunately, Sean Bean wasn't there to judge the results himself, but it's pretty fair to say their efforts were impressive; though they did have to work out the right way to say "butt".
The full episode also features covers of Britney Spears' version of "My Prerogative" and Justin Bieber's "Sorry". They join a stellar line-up of previous guests including Will Smith, John Legend, and Alicia Keys. Also newly released is an episode combining the talents of Seth MacFarlane and Ariana Grande.
Carpool Karaoke is available on Apple Music.
