From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

David Schwimmer has refused to quell rumours of an upcoming Friends reunion, deflecting a question by joking that co-star Matthew Perry could be pregnant.

Quizzed by Matt Baker and Alex Jones on BBC’s The One Show, Schwimmer remained coy about the prospect of a reunion, saying: “I’m so glad I finally get to answer this question.”

“I honestly, I really wish I could confirm or deny. I can’t. There’s nothing official to report, unfortunately”, he continued.

But Jones pressed the issue, asking: “But maybe?”

“Maybe Matthew Perry is pregnant,’ Schwimmer replied, referring to a mysterious tweet by Perry that simply said: "Big news coming."

Many fans are desperate for a revival of the hugely popular sitcom, which ran from 1994 to 2004, and it looks like a reunion of some sort is finally on the cards.

Last October, Jennifer Anniston posted a photo of the six lead castmembers – Schwimmer, Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and herself – on instagram.

Some reports have claimed that the reunion will take the form of a cast get-together, supposedly hosted by Ellen Degeneres.
