From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.A number of the strange photoshoots the Friends cast were forced to participate in have resurfaced in the wake of the reunion news.
The images were shared by writer Sophie Louise Hall on Twitter, and show former cast members David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry in various ridiculous poses and scenarios.
In one, the six actors sit astride a horse that has been digitally stretched. In another, they appear in a magazine shoot that is, for some reason, a cross between Wild West and burlesque-themed.
Fans pointed out that many images had fallen foul of poor Photoshop skills, such as the one where characters Rachel, Phoebe and Monica try to pull Ross away from Joey and Chandler – only the women have been Photoshopped so they are visibly bigger than the men.
News that an official reunion between the original cast members will finally happen has been met with widespread excitement from fans.
A number of celebrities, including Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Laura Dern, reacted to an Instagram post by Aniston confirming the one-off special would take place.
The programme has been described as an unscripted special during which all six stars will return to Stage 24, the sitcom’s original soundstage on the Warner Bros studio lot in Burbank, California.
