From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Lennie James has made his Fear the Walking Dead debut in an extended look at the forthcoming season.

The spin-off series will see James' character Morgan Jones swap Rick Grimes for the Clark family in the first crossover to occur in The Walking Dead universe.

Quite how Morgan will cross states in just three episodes remains to be seen.

“Back east, there was a fight - a big fight,” Morgan explains to Maddie (Kim Dickens) and company, referencing All Out War. “I didn’t know how to make it stop. Good people died. I lose people, and then I lose myself.”

Interestingly, his words seem to tease the end of the war against Negan and The Saviours.

Joining James in the new series is former Lost alum Maggie Grace and Garrett Dillahunt who will all appear alongside returning cast members Dickens, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey and Colman Domingo.

Explaining the decision to induct Morgan into Fear the Walking Dead, Scott Gimple - overseer of the franchise - told Talking Dead it was "important to see Fear’s world and characters through new yet familiar eyes.”

Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC on 16 April, and will be available to view in the UK on AMC, BT TV on 23 April.
