The scene, which takes place in a cafe, sees Max apologise for his earlier behaviour before suggesting he and Ruby make up with a bottle of champagne later.
He asks: “Why don't I come round your new place tonight and bring you a bottle of champagne?”
To which Ruby replies: “If you bring me a bottle I might let you in."
As she stands up and leans over for a kiss, it appears her legs have disappeared, leaving her with no bottom half.
Viewers took to Twitter to voice their confusion over what appears to be an editing error.
One asked: “Did anyone notice ruby had lost her legs tonight?”
“Ruby, darling, what happened to your legs..?!” questioned a third viewer.
Another wrote: “So the hubby and I were watching Eastenders last night and we both gasped at the same time when Ruby stood up to kiss Max - OMG she has no legs haa haa”.
Fans of the soap were also perplexed by how distraught Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) and Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith) were after Karen (Lorraine Stanely) and Keegan Baker (Zack Morris) decided to say goodbye to Walford.
The pair were only moving to Croydon which is a mere 45 minute drive away.
While it’s understandable that Tiffany would be sad at Keegan’s departure from the square – they are married, after all – viewers were left confused as to why it was being treated like the pair were moving to the other side of the world, with Billy acting like he would never see his love interest, Karen, ever again.
“Where the f*** is Karen going? Abroad?” one person wrote, with another adding: ”Why they acting like Croydon is the other side of the world? Not every couple live on the same street.”
