Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.James Corden and David Beckham have launched a new underwear line supported by a Justin Bieber-esque ad campaign featuring both men stripped down to their briefs and filmed in black and white, as they describe their need to feel “supported,” “free” and “cradled”.
The spoof, created for Corden’s new US programme The Late, Late Show, sees the two men strike strong poses as their key message is relayed to the audience.
“For a man to be truly happy he needs to be able to see within himself.
“You spend your life being watched, getting pushed, being judged. The horizons? They’re difficult to see.
“Is there a reason to life? Is there a meaning to our days?” Beckham and Corden’s voiceovers ask, before they suddenly speak on camera, telling the audience about how “alive” and “sexually aroused” the underwear makes them feel.
“D&J Briefs. It’s underwear for a man with a great body. And David Beckham,” Cordon finishes, before dropping into backwards swallow dive.
The clip ends with the promise from Corden this underwear is “available in no stores anywhere”.
