Chrissy Teigen has condemned alt-right trolls who have repeatedly spread baseless conspiracies connecting her to Jeffrey Epstein.
The model and TV personality, who is married to musician John Legend, has been regularly tagged in tweets claiming that she flew on Epstein’s private plane, which was dubbed “The Lolita Express”.
Teigen is not named on any of the flight logs for the plane, and has never been photographed with Epstein nor his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. On Twitter, Teigen said that she feared for her family’s safety.
“I actually deleted 60,000 tweets because I cannot f***ing STAND you idiots anymore and I’m worried for my family,” Teigen wrote, after being accused of deleting compromising tweets, which included a joke tweeted in 2013 about the US reality series Toddlers and Tiaras.
“Why would I be such a public paedophile, tweeting about it??” she asked. “It was about how anyone who watches it needs to go to jail. It’s not hard … Everyone thinking I’m guilty because I’m defensive. You understand you are calling me a paedophile, correct?”
Teigen also called upon Twitter bosses to act on her “harassment” by trolls.
“I have a family and job and there are too many to target. I’ve tried everything. Every lawyer says it will take many years and not change a f***ing thing. Because they will ALWAYS be crazy.
“They have no idea how hard this is to cope with. They won’t stop until I die. I’m convinced of it. And even then they’ll think of another conspiracy.”
Teigen, a vocal Donald Trump critic, has been regularly targeted by trolls linking her to conspiracies involving children and sexual abuse. In 2018, she expressed bafflement after being linked to Pizzagate, a baseless conspiracy theory suggesting that Hillary Clinton is involved in a child sex ring.
“Apparently dressing my daughter as Alice in Wonderland and a hot dog and having a pizza emoji on Snapchat has to do with pizzagate and being uhhhh darksided,” Teigen wrote. “Holy s**t.”
