Chelsea Handler has offered to pay the taxes of her ex-boyfriend 50 Cent, after he endorsed Donald Trump in protest over Joe Biden’s reported tax plan.

Handler and the “In Da Club” rapper were briefly a couple in 2010, and Handler has now expressed dismay on Twitter over his right-wing political views.

On Monday (19 October), 50 Cent sparked uproar among his fans after declaring his intention to vote for Trump even though he claimed the president “doesn’t like black people”.

He cited a CNBC report, widely believed to be misleading, which claimed that Biden would tax 62 per cent of the wages of New York’s high earners if he is elected.

“WHAT THE F***! (VOTE ForTRUMP) IM OUT,” 50 Cent wrote on Instagram. “F*** NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. I don’t care Trump doesn’t like black people. 62 per cent, are you out of ya f***ing mind.”

After 50 Cent tweeted that he didn’t want to be “20 Cent”, Handler wrote: “You used to be my favourite ex-boyfriend.”

The rapper responded that he didn’t want “Trump and Joe Biden to come between” the pair, only for Handler to hit back with an offer.

“Hey f***er! I will pay your taxes in exchange for you coming to your senses,” Handler tweeted. “Happily! Black lives matter. That’s you, f***er! Remember?”

50 Cent has yet to respond to Handler’s offer.
