From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, who became popular among British viewers after her I’m A Celebrity stint last year, posted an Instagram photo of herself on the set of the show, alongside series lead Brendan O’Carroll.
“Had so much fun appearing in this funny comedy in Scotland!” reads the caption. “Mrs Brown’s Boys!”
Despite the sitcom being set in Ireland, the show and its spin-off series is actually filmed in the BBC Studios in Glasgow.
In the image, Jenner can be seen reading the fictional newspaper favoured by Mrs Brown, the Northside People, while the matriarch stands over her.
Mrs Brown’s Boys was a controversial win at this year’s National Television Awards, beating out competition from Fleabag.
A representative for the show confirmed to Yahoo News that Jenner’s cameo will appear in an upcoming episode of spin-off All Round to Mrs Brown’s.
