Your support makes all the difference. The new series of Broadchurch will focus on the trial of Joe Miller, even after his lengthy confession at the end of the first series.
Tonight the show came back with a big bang as Joe Miller entered a "not guilty" plea to killing the Danny.
The second series of the ITV drama, starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman, will also see the detectives work together on DI Alec Hardy's old case Sandbrook.
In the first episode it was revealed that Hardy was protecting the suspected murderer's wife Claire in the case.
Audiences were reunited with the cast as the story picked up several months after the events of the first series.
Colman’s Ellie Miller was in Devon working as an officer, but returned to hear her husband enter his plea. DI Alec Hardy was still not in the best of health and remained as dour as ever.
Meanwhile a new face was on the scene: Eve Myles as Claire, who seemed to be being stalked by someone. Hardy was assisting her in an unofficial witness protection scheme linked to his last case - Sandbrook - which collapsed. Hardy now wants to solve his old case.
Charlotte Rampling starred as Jocelyn Knight, a retired lawyer, who the residents of Broadchurch called upon to help represent the Latimers in the trial.
Marianne Jean-Baptiste plays Sharon Bishop, a rival lawyer. Viewers learnt that Knight was her old boss and the two women have a history together.

Writer Chris Chibnall has kept the plot details for the second series a secret, with cast members reportedly required to sign non-disclosure agreements and no preview copies available to the press. Arthur Darvill, who stars as vicar Reverend Paul Coates on the show, admitted that even the cast were not allowed to watch the second series in full.
The first series followed the murder investigation of 10-year-old Danny, who was found dead at the bottom of the cliffs in Broadchurch in the first episode. The whole town was under suspicion. It wasn’t until the last episode that the identity of the killer was revealed.
The drama will continues next week at 9pm on Monday on ITV.
