Broad City has landed a 2-season renewal on Comedy Central. With season 3 about to premiere on the channel 17 February, Deadline has reported the network has confirmed season 4 and 5 have already been picked up.
It's sublime news; the New York-based comedy set around the misadventures of two wayward best friends remains amongst the most flat-out hilarious television currently airing, propelling its creators Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer into the forefront of comedy's new wave of stars.
It's so good, in fact, Hillary Clinton has confessed to be a huge fan of the show and will guest star in the season 3 premiere.
This coincides with the news the network's picked up a three-episode limited series Time Traveling Bong; fronted by Ilana Glazer, Paul W. Downs, and Lucia Aniello. The show will premiere after Broad City's season 3 finale on 20 April; centring around two cousins who, yes, discover a time-traveling bong. Unfortunately, the darned thing breaks and strands the pair in the space-time continuum. Bummer.
Downs and Aniello are also currently writing a female fronted spin-off from the 21 Jump Street series; may we pray that with Broad City's future secured, we might see Abbi and Ilana finally make the jump to the big screen?
