From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Netflix is playing its cards close to its chest with upcoming Black Mirror season 4 episode 'USS Callister', the trailer for which appears happy and dread-free.
We see Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad) playing a James T. Kirk-esque spacecraft captain, leading a crew that also includes Cristin Milioti (How I Met Your Mother), Jimmi Simpson (Westworld) and Michaela Coel (Chewing Gum).
The cast voyage through space, defeat alien aggressors and everything seems.....strangely fine.
This is Black Mirror though, so something must go awry, and there's a hint of this in the trailer when Milioti's crew member drops out of character.
Showrunner Charlie Brooker discussed this 'USS Callister' episode and much more in an interview in this week's episode of our podcast, Kernels. You can listen to it below and through podcast apps here.
The trailer follows our exclusive tease of episode 'Black Museum' and glimpses of 'Crocodile', 'Arkangel' and 'Metalhead'. Only 'Hang the DJ' has yet to be shown off.
Black Mirror season 4 is expected soon but does not yet have a release date.
