From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The BBC has added every episode of Scandinavian crime series The Bridge to iPlayer in anticipation if its long-awaited final season.
First released in 2011, the series - starring Sofia Helin - is on the cusp of returning after three years following the culmination of its third season in 2015.
Helin will reprise the role of Saga Norén for the final run when it premieres on BBC Two in May. It debuted in Denmark on 1 January 2018.
The ten-episode first season, which co-stars Kim Bodnia as Detective Martin Rohde, centres on the discovery of a dead body at the exact centre of the Øresund Bridge which links Malmo with Copenhagen.
Created and written by Hans Rosenfeldt, it immediately became one of the most popular dramas to emerge from both Denmark and Sweden going on to be broadcast in over 100 countries globally.
The new series will be thematically similar to what's come before with the trailer featuring a woman being stoned to death and a machine gun rampage through Copenhagen.
The opening theme song is “Hollow Talk” by Choir of Young Believers.
