From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. It always goes the same way: someone affiliated with Arrested Development gets interviewed, they're asked about the status of the heavily-teased upcoming season and will invariably say something that'll reignite the excitement of fans.
Now, however, It seems we actually have fresh news to get excited by courtesy of Jessica Walter who plays Bluth family matriarch, Lucille Bluth.
Following the first Emmy win for animated series Archer at last night's Creative Arts Emmy Awards, the actor stated: "It's looking real good. I don't have dates but everybody is on board."
Arrested Development was cancelled in 2006 but got resurrected by Netflix in 2013 thanks to a public outcry from its dedicated fanbase. Season 4 shook up the series' formula by focusing on one of the show's central characters per episode consequently eliminating the cast's chemistry which had previously set the comedy series apart.
Creator Mitchell Hurwitz - who earlier this year revealed season 5 is 'definitely happening' - recently cited early 2017 as a potential start date for filming.
The series stars Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Tony Hale, Portia de Rossi, David Cross and Transparent actor Jeffrey Tambor.
