He is entering the US version of the reality TV show in the hope of winning $250,000. The news comes a year after another member of Trump's administration, Omarosa Manigualt, entered the compound.
Scaramucci was released by Trump after just 11 days in the role.
Other contestants taking part in the CBS series include actor Tom Green (Freddy Got Fingered), Tamar Braxton, the sister of “Unbreak My Heart” singer Toni, and swimmer Ryan Lochte, who falsely claimed that he and three others had been robbed by armed robbers during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Lochte was given a doping ban after posting a photo of himself receiving intravenous infusions on Instagram alongside his wife in July 2018.
Also appearing will be WWE wrestler Natalie Eva Marie, former NFL star Ricky Williams and Kandi Burruss of Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Veronica Mars star Jonathan Bennett, Olympian Lolo Jones and actor-singer Joey Lawrence round out the second US celebrity edition of the reality series.
The series begins on 21 January and will be hosted by Julie Chen Moonves. The UK version of the show came to an end in 2018.
