From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Adam Sandler has revealed that he once signed a bag of his hair for a fan who then sold it as “pubic hair” on the internet.

The actor shared the anecdote during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday (30 September).

“ I had a person one time – I was leaving a haircut and a kid came out with a bag of my hair cut, and asked me to sign that,” he said.

“I did that, and then on the internet that night, he was selling it and saying, ‘Adam Sandler’s pubic hair,’” he laughed. “It’s a true story.”

When host Jimmy Kimmel asked how much the bag of fake “pubic hair” was being sold for, the Uncut Gems star said that he “bought them back for $65 (£50)”.

The 54-year-old is currently in Philadelphia shooting a new basketball-themed Netflix movie titled Hustle.
