Krysten Ritter, of Don't Trust the B**** in Apartment 23, will take the leading role in the programme.
Doctor Who star David Tennant will also appear in the original Nextlix series, as the villain Kilgrave.
Million Dollar Baby actor Mike Colter with play superhero Luke Cage, while Rachael Taylor, who previously appeared in Transformers, has been cast as Jessica’s best friend Trish Walker.
The 13 one-hour episodes which will make up the first series are to drop on the streaming service on 20 November at 12:01am PT (7am GMT).
The premiere date was revealed in the teaser trailer, which gave away little else about the show.
The mysterious 54-second-long clip appears to give viewers clues to the plot of the series, and features almost psychedelic, multi-coloured depictions of a camera lens, a glass of liquid tipping over, and a dead body.
“It’s time the world knew her name. #JessicaJones,” the teaser concludes.
A.K.A Jessica Jones is one of four superhero series that Netflix is premiering, with Daredevil – also starring Ms Ritter – being the first.
Luke Cage and Iron Fist are slated to be debuted next, before all the main characters will appear inThe Defenders, according to Variety.
