From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Another episode of I’m a Celebrity 2020, another Bushtucker trial for Jordan North.

The Radio 1 DJ has become the ITV reality show’s resident punching bag since the show began on Sunday (15 November), with the public electing him to take on every trial they’ve been able to.

This latest trial saw him tasked with entering a trap door to navigate an underground pulley through a tunnel in which he was joined by all kinds of creatures, including mealworms, cockroaches and toads.

North admitted to being worse with confined spaces than he is with heights, which he was revealed to not be a big fan of earlier this week.

Viewers cheered him on from home after noticing the look of terror on his face as he prepared to face his first solo trial. He ended up winning 12 out of 12 stars.

North’s effort has prompted viewers to call on the DJ to win the show.

“Jordan North could end up winning this series of #ImACeleb,” one person wrote, adding: “And if not, he's done so well so far.”

Another said: “Jordan North to win, genuine fears but getting stuck in... what a great journey he is on.”

“Jordan North is just an all round decent bloke really isn’t he,” one fan said, with another stating: “If Jordan doesn’t win I’m a celeb, I’ll riot.”

I’m a Celebrity continues nightly at 9pm on ITV1.
