From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. HBO has released the best look at Game of Thrones season 8 yet.

The cable network has released brand new images that not only tease the events of the remaining six episodes but establish the 13 major players going in.

This being the final season, HBO has been reticent to reveal much about what to expect, but this hasn't stopped fans from theorising.

A cryptic trailer teased a huge reveal relating to the heritage of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), while also resurfacing a rather shocking theory about Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright).

Game of Thrones season 8 begins in the US on 14 April. It’ll air in the UK the following evening on Sky Atlantic. You can find a compilation of everything we know about the final six episodes here.
