The channel has submitted the show, which holds the record for most wins, and fans can now see which episodes and cast members producers think have the most chance of furthering the show's reign.
The only actors to be put forward for leading star Emmy nominations are Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke.
Those in contention for supporting nods include Maisie Williams, Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner, Alfie Allen and Gwendoline Christie.
Even Beric Dondarrion star Richard Dormer got a look in, leaving many to wonder why Rory McCann - who played The Hound - was omitted.
The real surprise, though, is the sole episode that's been submitted for recognition in the Best Writing category: controversial series finale, “The Iron Throne”.
While the episode may have had its fans, it's a bold move pushing an episode that quite clearly wasn't the final season at its strongest.
Should they have wanted to secure the win, HBO should have submitted season eight's second episode, titled “Knights of the Seven Kingdom”.
Still, Emmy voters have a history of favouring final seasons of beloved TV shows, so expect Game of Thrones to not only be mentioned heavily when the nominations are announced on 16 July, but to win a heap of awards come September.
