From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. With Game of Thrones entering its eighth and final season, feelings of nostalgia are to be expected – including from Richard Madden.
The Bodyguard star, who played Robb Stark during the fantasy drama's first three seasons, posted a throwback photo of himself with his co-stars Kit Harington and Alfie Allen on Instagram.
The photo, published on Thursday, shows Madden, Harington and Allen after their first read-through for the HBO series, having apparently just hopped off the Belfast Wheel.
"#TBT This is Kit, Alfie and I after our first read through of S1 Ep1 of Game of Thrones about 10 years ago. KIDZ," Madden wrote next to the image.
After Game of Thrones, Madden continued growing his career both on television and on the big screen. He notably plays PS David Budd in the acclaimed BBC drama Bodyguard, and will portray John Reid in the Elton John biopic Rocketman.
Harington and Allen are both still part of the Game of Thrones cast, in which they respectively play Jon Snow and Theon Greyjoy.
Game of Thrones's eighth season premiered last week. It will return on Sunday for a second episode.
The show is available on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK, and on HBO in the US.
