Love Island 2021: Matt dumped from the villa

Love Island viewers have reacted in dismay after Wednesday’s episode (11 August) saw contestant Matthew MacNabb leave the show.

The episode culminated in a dramatic recoupling, in which the girls were allowed to pick which boy they wished to partner with.

The group was whittled down until it was only Matt and Brett left, with Priya made to decide between the two of them.

“I feel like, with one of the boys, conversation flows really easily. I’m really comfortable with him,” she said, teasing her choice. “It helps that I can stare into his eyes all day.”Speaking after his exit, Matthew said

She then revealed she would be picking Brett, meaning Matthew would be leaving the show.

Speaking after his exit, Matthew said: “Ultimately, the outstanding emotion I get is that I’m proud.

“I feel proud of the journey I went on and I stayed true to myself. I met some amazing people there that I’ll be friends with for life. I feel very positive about the whole situation, I’m happy.”

Viewers shared their devastation at Matt leaving the series on social media.

“I miss Matthew already, I am very upset by this,” wrote one viewer.

“Aww Matthew man priya has made the wrong choice,” wrote another.

“No No No Matthew omg he was a true king, gentleman and the most kindest person in the villa, it won’t be the same without him in it,” wrote someone else.
