Pot Black, the tournament that gave birth to the monster that is TV snooker, returns next month as Pot Black Timeframe (BBC 1, 7 Sept) with a 'revolutionary new system based on time'. Both players will be given the same time to score and will be deducted four points for every 10 seconds over their alloted period that they spend at the table. If it means that snooker matches will be over more quickly, could the Timeframe system please be introduced for the next World Championships?
