Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod's recent Much Ado About Nothing was one of the most glorious productions of a Shakespeare comedy in years. Now they're making their RSC debut with another great comedy - Sheridan's A School for Scandal. If that were not good enough news, bear in mind that Matthew McFadyen, their hilariously upstanding Benedick from Much Ado, is rejoining them, alongside the likes of Kenneth Cranham and Emma Fielding (above). And the icing on the cake? Celia Imrie and Deborah Findlay. With that kind of talent, intelligence and comic timing on board, this should be a much-needed RSC hit.
