Lux Europae (all around Edinburgh, 031-225 2383, Thurs to 3 Jan). Part of the European Arts Festival, 'celebrating' Britain's EC Presidency: outdoor, site-specific light-sculptures made by 30 European sculptors.

Terry Atkinson & Locky Morris (Cornerhouse, Manchester, 061-228 2463, Sat to 29 Nov). From Atkinson, a political-conceptualist, a group of paintings reflecting on Hiroshima; from Morris, a Derry-based artist with Republican sympathies, a wall installation dealing with secret communications between prisoners in Long Kesh.

Christian Boltanski & John Latham (Lisson Gallery, NW1, 071-724 2739, Wed to 21 Nov). Boltanski is the greatest living exponent of the photo installation; Latham's work employs books, globes and canvas to demonstrate his ungraspable theories about time, society and the universe.
