The Sunday Preview: A game of two halves
SINGLES play doubles in Domestic Arrangements (right), a warm and witty look at the conundrums of coupledom. The piece is choreographed by Rui Horta, the award-winning Portuguese choreographer, whose company, SOAP Dance Theatre, will be performing at The Place as part of the Turning World festival. Another Horta piece in the festival, Wolfgang, Bitte . . , was a smash hit when it was presented at Dance Workshop Europe in 1991. In this piece, Horta doesn't curtsy to Mozart's genius but directs seven dancers to evoke the many sides of one personality. Other Horta pieces to be performed include Ordinary Events, an energetic work of forceful tumbles and falls, and Diving, a dip in a surrealistic swimming pool. (Domestic Arrangements is on Thurs; Made to Measure with Wolfgang, Bitte . . ., Ordinary Events and Diving is on Fri and Sat. SOAP Dance Theatre, The Place, WC1, 071-387 0031.) Anne Sacks
