SIGNED TO David Byrne's Luaka Bop label, Los Amigos Invisibles come from Venezuela, and touch down in the UK for the first time with some serious party vibes, combining Latin rhythms with modern dancefloor sounds plus a dash of punk panache and sleaze. Their debut album, The New Sound of the Venezuelan Gozadera, sung mostly in Spanish, has been a steady seller both here and in the US, where they have supported Cornershop, right. There's no support act; Soul Jazz DJs set the vibe.

The Nashville Babylon people have really pulled one out of the hat with a triple bill headed by the superb Boston lo-fi swamp noir ensemble, the Willard Grant Conspiracy. Chicago duo The Handsome Family add their own unique and warped twist on country, while homebased songwriter Peter Bruntnell completes the line-up.
