Dr Philip Timms, a senior lecturer in community psychiatry, on Secret History's 'Deep Sleep' (Mon C4): 'An amazing story of outrageous malpractice; it seemed pretty measured, not sensationalised. The psychiatric techniques used were given up here some 40 years ago. It was rather like seeing a dinosaur from the past erupting in the present. It was also a very good example of how to succeed in malpractice: one charismatic doctor in a private practice surrounded by second-raters.'
