Stressed out in London? Throw an axe
Release your urbanite rage
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.‘Urban axe throwing’ has hit London, an activity billed as ‘the most satisfying day or night out you’ll ever have’ which sees guests hurl axes down a range.
The first and only urban axe throwing venue in the UK, Whistle Punks is located in a purpose-built temple near Brick Lane area, with new throwing venues expected to open across the UK soon.
There is music at the range, which accepts group bookings of up to 14, but understandably no booze.
“Our instructors will kick off your 1.5hr axetravaganza with a safety briefing and then move on to the throwing techniques you’ll need to get you sinking some axes,” its website explains. “Once you’ve got the hang of that, it’s onto the tournament.
“You’ll get one point for an outer ring, three for the inner ring, five for a bullseye and, if you’re feeling lucky you can bet it all and aim for the tiny seven-point corner spots.”
Whistle Punks is priced at £30 per person (1-7 players) and £25 per person (8-14 players).
