SIR Peter Maxwell Davies may be threatening to leave the country if London orchestras lose their public funds, but his music won't be going with him. The British Library has acquired the manuscripts of some 200 of his works - most of his output up to 1991, including sketches and drafts - and says it has paid the proverbial 'undisclosed sum'. I think if it happened to me, I'd be off to a warmer island too.
