Cosy and reassuring as a crackling log fire, the Clientele's sixth album is as redolent of autumn/ winter in London as its title suggests.
Still in thrall to reverb-heavy guitars, whispered vocals and the odd gently psychedelic flourish, the band have honed their sound to the point that you can now spot a Clientele song from its opening four bars. Too subtle to trouble the mainstream, each new Clientele release further suggests there is a masterpiece up their sleeve. And while this isn't it, it has moments of majesty, mystery and magic.
