KML Dedicated to the memory of their father, the Labque sisters' recording of Schubert's Fantasy in F minor balances dramatic sweep with exquisite detailing. This is a reading in which the transitions between the sections are as fascinating as the main themes. Shame about the heavy breathing, though, and the vocal burbling that a producer should have quelled after the first take. Mozart's Sonata in D for two pianos is similarly decorated with breathy "dee-dee-dee"s and "dah"s, distracting from a graceful and intelligent performance. Only Schubert's bonny B minor Andantino escapes without vocal gracenotes.

Download this Mozart's elegant Andante, with added murmurs
