Radiohead's seventh LP isn't just a stroke of marketing genius. There's some masterful musicianship to be had on this pay-for-it-what-you-like melodic pop meets caustic rock record. But for every ferocious freak-out track ("15 Step") nodding in the direction of Kid A, there are mellower songs such as "All I Need" and "Nude" reminiscent of Bends-era Radiohead. "Faust Arp" harks back to the sobriety and melancholia of OK Computer, while "Reckoner" takes the band into newer dream-like territory. If this were a best-of album it would be exquisite. As a set of new songs, it will prove hard to surpass.
