You see what they're driving at: a sort of English-folk Buckingham-Nicks. The record is nearly all self-composed, which accounts in part for its wide-awake contemporaneity – melodic folk-pop, long on melody and gloss, short of real guts. Enjoyable though. Nick Coleman
