Earnestness and despair are not things normally associated with club-friendly music.
But it can be done. The best Gil Scott-Heron tunes, for example, fused poetic truth with the need to shake a booty, and this duo continue that fine tradition. Pip's everyman vocals take on issues from knife crime to the general lack of hope among young people, while Le Sac's increasingly experimental backing tracks provide bouncy beats. Savage, funny, wise and inspiring. Their country needs them.
