"Less is more" is generally a good aesthetic whatever the creative endeavour, as is never looking back.
But composer Bastos breaks both rules by revisiting his 1997 album Paradiso to add orchestration and electronic effects to basic guitar, vocals and percussion arrangements. Largely it works because the vocals of Fonseca and others remain the focus of attention, and the embellishments effectively turn a home movie into a widescreen epic.
