Your support makes all the difference.Part of An Opera in Cinema Special Presentation series, Placido Domingo returns to La Scala in the title role of Verdi's Simon Boccanegra, shown live in cinemas around the world on April 29.
The opera also stars Ferruccio Furlanetto and Anja Harteros. It is conducted by Daniel Barenboim and directed by Federico Tiezzi.
It will be broadcast live in digital HD in cinemas across the US and Europe directly from Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Italy at 2 pm EST/11 am PST. Tickets are $25.
At 69, Domingo will take on the baritone role of the Doge of Genoa, after singing tenor roles.
The world-renowned opera singer underwent surgery in March for a malignant colon polyp.
