From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Following the success of ‘Salman Rushdie reading Drake’, a host of Hollywood celebrities have served up some deadpan recitals of the 6 God’s “Hotline Bling".

Saoirse Ronan kicks things off musically, before Elizabeth Banks comes in with a stern yet sassy “late night, when you need my love”.

Paul Dano, Kristen Wiig. Amy Schumer and Bryan Cranston give the summer sleeper hit more of a bedroom drama vibe however, while Seth Rogen delivering the lines as though they’re straight out of one of his comedies.

Joel Egerton, Brie Larson, Greta Gerwig and Rooney Mara also take part, though the final line of the W magazine skit is left to Cranston, who goes all Heisenberg on: “That can only mean one thing”.

What could possibly be next? Daniel Day-Lewis reading Fetty Wap? Joaquin Phoenix reading an entire Young Thug mixtape?

For my money, nothing will ever top Michael Shannon’s dramatic reading of that sorority letter though.
