From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Vin Diesel has shocked fans with the release of his first single “Feel Like I Do”.

The Fast and Furious star announced the new track to his 65.9 million followers on Instagram earlier today (25 September).

He addressed his fans in the post: “For so long, I have been promising to release music… encouraged by you, to step out of my comfort zone.

“Thank you for believing in me. As always, I hope to make you proud.”

The actor worked with Norwegian DJ Kygo on the new house track, and provided the vocals – which sound nothing like the deep voice for which he is known .

It’s not the first time that Diesel has shown off his vocal range, having surprised fans by voicing the character of Baby Groot in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

In 2016, the 53-year-old performed Wiz Khalifa’s song "See You Again" at the People’s Choice Awards in a moving tribute to his late co-star Paul Walker.
