From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK appears to have produced another hit single, as stars United Kingdolls edge into the Official Singles chart with their song, “UK Hun?”.

Last week’s (Thursday 11 February) episode had the queens split into two groups for “Ruruvision”, a play on the Eurovision Song Contest.

The United Kingdolls – made up of Tayce, Bimini Bon-Boulash, Lawrence Chaney and A’Whora – received douze points from the judges for their take on the song, beating rivals Bananadrama (Tia Kofi, Ellie Diamond, Sister Sister, and Joe Black).

The United Kingdolls version is currently at No 25 in the charts and holding steady, meaning it stands a good chance of remaining in the Top 40 by Friday (19 February).

Last year, Drag Race UK stars The Frock Destroyers achieved a No 35 hit with their song, “Break Up Bye Bye”.

Elsewhere in the charts this week, Taylor Swift’s re-recorded version of “Love Story” is currently in the top five, while rappers Lil Tjay and 6LACK are on track to knock Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” from the No 1 spot.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK continues next week on BBC Three.
