An acapella version of the Dolly Parton song 'Jolene' performed by Miley Cyrus, Parton herself, and Pentatonix has been receiving rave reviews from fans of The Voice US.

The Tuesday night show saw Parton take centre stage next to her god-daughter Cyrus, having previously performed her trademark song together, including at the 25th anniversary of Dollywood in 2010.

The Pentatonix had also collaborated with Parton on an acapella version of her song in September.

Earlier in the episode Parton had joined singer-songwriter Jennifer Nettles at the top 10 contestants on The Voice to sing Nettles' song 'Circle of Love'.

Just a day after the 'Jolene' performance, Dolly Parton pledged $1,000 a month to families who have been hit by the Tennessee fires.

The legendary country music singer said she had asked her suite of entertainement companies to help set up her 'my People Fund', which will provide aid for those left bereaved and homeless by the fires.

"I've always believed charity begins at home," she wrote in a statement on her website, "and that's why I've asked my companies to help me establish a fun to assist the victims of the Great Smoky Mountain wildfires in Tennessee."

"We want to provide a hand up to all those families that have lost everything in the fires.

"And to recover, we want to make sure that the Dollywood Foundation provides $1,000 a month to all of those families that have lost their homes in the fires until theu get up on thei feet. I know it has been a trying time for my people, and this assistance will help."
