Taylor Swift has shared the music video for her new single “Willow” to coincide with the release of her surprise album, Evermore.
The musician announced that her second studio album of 2020, following August’s surprise release Folklore, would be released at midnight ET on Friday 11 December.
The “Willow” music video follows a similar theme to Swift’s first Folklore single, “Cardigan”.
It begins with Swift climbing through her piano and emerging into a different world, where she meets a young man, and takes part in a magical ritual.
She later reunites with the man and walks away with him into a forest.

Evermore sees Swift reunite with her Folklore writing partners, including regular collaborator Jack Antonoff, Bon Iver, and The National’s Aaron Dessner.
On the song, “no body, no crime”, Swift teams up with US band HAIM.
Swift’s album Folklore is one of the most critically acclaimed of the year, and recently received a nomination for Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
The Independent praised the record as “exquisite, piano-based poetry” and commended Swift for her songwriting.
