Your support makes all the difference.Taylor Swift has debuted a very on-the-nose music video for the first single off her forthcoming record at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The singer debuted the video for new track 'Look What You Made Me Do' - which will be taken from Reputation - during the ceremony on Sunday evening (27 August) following an initial teaser release on Good Morning America.
In the video, Swift can be seen performing as several of her past alter egos, referencing past criticism that's been thrown her way by the media. It begins with a zombie version of the singer crawling out of a graveyard bearing the tombstone: “Here lies Taylor Swift's reputation.”
Midway through, we see the singer backed by a dance-troupe wearing "I Heart T.S." shirts, a reference to an infamous photo of when Swift was dating actor Tom Hiddleston.
By the end of the video, Swift can be seen stood among earlier incarnations of herself referencing her highly-publicised feud with Kanye West, saying: "I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative."
The video's director has since responded to accusations they copied Beyoncé, saying Swift's not in the same 'art space'.
Swift's new record Reputation - her first since 2014's 1989 - will be released on 10 November.
The VMAs was hosted by Katy Perry with many hoping the ceremony would see the latter reference her rival with swift, however, the video dropped during a segment in which Perry did not appear.
